The Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect are two separate but similar exchanges that enable cross-border trading between the stock exchanges of Hong Kong and mainland China. The Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect was launched in 2014, while the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect was launched in 2016. Both exchanges allow investors in Hong Kong and mainland China to buy and sell shares listed on each other's stock exchanges using their local currencies. These exchanges have provided greater access to mainland Chinese and Hong Kong-listed stocks for international investors. |
