How do I set my Options to "Early Exercise" or "Do Not Exercise"?

You may choose to "Early Exercise" your Options position before expiry if it is In-the-Money via the Webull App.

1. Tap your Options position

2. Tap the 3 dots at the bottom right of your screen

3. Tap "Early Exercise"

4. Tap "Submit"

Note:

For Long Call position, you need to have sufficient buying power (100 x contract quantity x strike price) to submit an Early Exercise request.

For Long Put position, you need to hold sufficient underlying shares (100 x contract quantity) to submit an Early Exercise request.

You will find a “DNE” button by selecting your Options position with the steps above. DNE stands for Do-Not-Exercise.

By enabling the "DNE" button, the Options contract will not be automatically exercised when it expires, whether In-the-Money, At-the-Money, or Out-the-Money. However, it may still be automatically liquidated on the day of expiration.

Early Exercise is not available while your account is under a margin call. Any pending early exercise request may therefore be cancelled. Long options or other positions may also be sold or liquidated to reduce the margin deficiency, in accordance with our risk management procedures.
